THEFT FROM HOSPITAL
Dangerous Drugs And £lOO
(New Zeaiana Press Association) WELLINGTON. June 22. Money and 'dangerous drugs were stolen from the matron’s office of the Alexandra Maternity Hospital, Hanson street, Wellington. between 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. on Saturday. The thief took £lOO in cash, a quantity of, nembutal tablets and two boxes? containing 181 ampoules of pethidine. The nembutal tablets were later discovered scattered in the gutter about 150 yards from the hospital, and the police believe that most of -those taken have been accounted for.
An extensive police search is going on for the pethidine—a liquid drug labelled poison—which could be very dangerous in the hands of children.
