Park Fences

Sir, —Win Jarden’s suggestion of a concrete curb in place of fences to keep cars out of the park is a good one. Although the initial cost would be high, maintenance costs would be eliminated. The benefit of an unspoiled view would surely justify the extra expense. Some of the existing fences, including hedges, round Hagley are a blot on an otherwise beautiful landscape.—Yours, etc., GARDEN CITY. June 20, 1958.
