South Island Squad
After the West Coast-Canter-bury Rugby League game on Saturday, the South Island selectors (Messrs K. Andrews and T. McKenzie) announced a South Island training squad from which the South Island team to meet the North Island in Christchurch on July 12 will be chosen. The players are.—
Backs: G. Williams, E. Anderson, C. Courtney, K. Roberts, J. Bond (Canterbury), G. Menzies, R. Griffiths, A. Kennedy (West Coast). Forwards: R. Turton, M. Cooke, J. Jones (Canterbury), J. Butterfield. T. Kilkelly, F. Hassan, B. Gardiner (West Coast).
A team from the squad will play West Coast at Greymouth on July 5 and the South Island side will be announced after this game.
