Templeton seems a likely winner of the Simon Cup. It now has a lead of 11 points but has to meet the next team, Avondale, in the final round, after having a bye in the next round. The points are: Templeton 5. Avondale 31, Waimairi 3, Hagley 2, Rawhiti 11, Rangiora 0, Windsor 0.

Holder lost to J. Fleming, 2 and 1: R. Pugh beat R. Hamilton, 4 and 3; E. G. Mitchell beat T. Chinnery. 2 up; F. R. Busch lost to F. B. Leech, 7 and 6. Templeton won by 6 games to 2. The match was played at Russley. WAIMAIRI v. WINDSOR R. O’Callaghan beat R. Franks, 6 and 4; M. Hodgkinson beat W. Brodie, 5 and 4; C. Nevell beat N. Aitken, 2 and 1; W. Stevens beat G. O’Neill, 2 and 1; R. Dunean beat K. Harris, 7 and 5; C. Broxton beat A. Cormack, 1 up; R. Challis beat C. Rhodes, 8 and 6; J. A. Ellern beat P. Z. Harris, 1 up. Waimairi won by 8 games to 0. The match was played at Avondale. RAWHITI v. AVONDALE J. Groom lost to C. Jenkins. 3 and 1; W. McKenzie beat M. K. Rodgers, 3 and 1; D. Latto beat T. G. Kennedy, 4 and 2; K. Lindley beat H. E. Clarke, 1 up; J. Millard lost to C. A. Pascoe, 6 and 4; P. Jackson beat Y. F. Bell, 2 and 1; B. Masson lost to J. Claydon, 1 up; C. Gibson lost to H. W. Wilkins, 2 and 1.
