SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHERS
Methodists Hold Rally
A Sunday school teachers’ allday rally, organised by the North Canterbury Methodist Sunday School Union, was held at Springstop on Saturday and was attended by 120 teachers from 32 schools.
During the morning an inspirational address “Where Are We Going in Our Sunday Schools” was given by the South Island youth director (Miss Meriel Beaumont).
Opening the afternoon session, a light-hearted sketch on how not to run a Sunday school, was presented in radio play form by several of the_teachers. The gathering was divided into four groups to discuss questions on Sunday school management and scripture examinations. Reports on these were presented by the leaders. Miss Beaumont, Messrs T. Macfarlane, L. Suckling and A. G. Rigby and a summing up was given by Mr H. W. Beaumont.
