Cuban President Reported Shot
NEW YORK, June 19.
President Fulgencia Batista, of Cuba, was reported to have been shot and seriously wounded, according to Dorothy Kilgallen, the New York “Journal-American” columnist, today.
“New Yorkers with Cuban chums in high places are agog over the report that President Batista was shot by one of his own soldiers the other day and surgeons are fighting to keep him alive,” she said.
