Elderly Man Killed By Car
(New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, June 20. An elderly man was killed when he was knocked down by a car at Ruakaka, Northland, at 6.15 p.m. today. He was: Richard Kelly, aged 77, who lived alone at Ruakaka. Mr Kelly had just stepped off a bus and was crossing the highway when the accident occurced. McCarthy Victims Reinstated. — The United States Court of Appeals ruled today that six civilian employees of the Army Signals Centre at Fort Monmouth are entitled to reinstatement in the jobs from which they were dismissed in 1954 as security risks after an inquiry conducted by Senator Joseph McCarthy.
