MASS PRODUCTION OF FRENCH JET AIRLINER.—In anticipation of large orders from Air France and foreign airlines, the French commercial aircraft, Caravelle, is being mass produced. The Caravelle is a jet airliner with swept-back wings and engines mounted at the rear of the fuselage. It is designed to carry 91 persons and has a cruising speed of more than 500 miles an hour. This photograph shows partly-built Caravelles in a Toulouse factory.
