Mackay To Practise With Kramer Troupe (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) SAN FRANCISCO, April 1. Jack Kramer, the professional tennis promoter, was appointed today to initiate an intensive training programme with the aim of winning [back the Davis Cup from Australia. Mr James Moffett, chairman of the United States Davis Cup selection committee, said the first step would be putting Barry Mackay, one of I America's tennis stars, under Kramer's personal tuition. Mr Moffett said Mackay would return from Europe this week-end and join Kramer’s professional tour. Mackay would practise daily with Pancho Gonzales. Lewis Hoad, Tony Trabert, and Pancho Segura. There was no danger to Mackay’s amateur status. He would be merely practising with the group. After several weeks Mackay would
go under Kramer’s personal supervision in Los Angeles. Mackay was the only player available for the training programme at | this stage because of education or business commitments, he said.
