Missionary Society Bookroom
The new Church Missionary Society bookroom was opened yesterday morning by the Dean of Christchurch (the Very Rev. Martin Sullivan). A short service of dedication before the opening was attended by many members of the society. Situated on the ground floor of the Church House building at 177 Manchester street, the bookroom will supply books and Sunday 'school materials for the diocese, las well as stocks of clerical robes. The robes will be displayed in the renovated basement. Since 1931 the workroom has been on the first floor of Church House. A directorate has been formed with the Rev. R. F. N. Thompson and Messrs J. E. Davies and D. Laugeson as members. The bookroom will be managed by Miss L. G. Purchase, .with Miss J. Phillips assisting.
