JAPANESE IMPORTS
Beef To Be Controlled

The Japanese Ministry of Trade announced today that the Japanese Government had placed beef, lemon, alpaca and cotton rag on the list of goods requiring prior allocation of foreign exchange to import.
The four items, which previously were imported freely under the automatic approval import system, henceforth will be restricted by the amounts of foreign exchange the Government makes available for their imports.
