OVEN FIRE
An oven fire at 10.55 p.m. yesterday at Belvedere Flats, 56 Salisbury street, was quickly brought under control and extinguished. Two units from the Central Fire Station attended. There was no damage.
The report in yesterday’s issue of a rubbish fire at 45 Te Awakura terrace. St. Andrew’s Hill, gave a wrong impression, said the owner. Mr G O. Greenwood, yesterday. He said that he was burning rubbish at the time and had the fire under control throughout. It caused no damage to his own pr any other property. The fire brigade was called by a needlessly agitated neighbour.
