Egypt Refuses French Offer
(Rec. 9 a.m.) CAIRO, April 2. Egypt has rejected a French offer of £8 million as het - share towards compensation for damage during the Suez crisis, a Treasury Ministry spokesman said last night. The French offer was insufficient, he said.
Egypt demanded £72 million jointly from France and Britain. The chief of the Egyptian Delegation, Mr Elatafi Sombol. will return on Sunday from Geneva, where talks on compensation are being held.
