Mr C. S. Peate, of Christchurch, was appointed a member of the board of directors of the New Zealand Refrigerating Company Ltd. at a meeting of the board yesterday. Mr Peate’s appointment fills the vacancy caused by the death of Mr W. H. E. Flint.
Mr G. C. Spencer was admitted as a barrister of the Supreme Court of New Zealand yesterday by Mr Justice Adams on the motion of tylr A. A. G. Reed. On the motion of Mr G. L. Caldwell, Mr B. L. A. Darby was admitted as a barrister and solicitor.
Mr W. M. Ollivier, of Christchurch. has been elected president of the New Zealand Tanners’ Association.
Mr A. E. Kincaid, the Red Cross Society representative, has resigned from the Christchurch Aged People’s Welfare Council. The council at its quarterly meeting last evening decided to write to Mr Kincaid, a former treasurer, and express thanks for the work he had done for the organisation.
