Trade With China
Sir,—R. S. Wheeler appears to be very interested in Japan’s millions. He should know a little about the Japanese. During the war thousands of allied soldiers, airmen, and sailors were starved, tortured, and treated in an infamous manner by the Japanese. | Japan is preparing to challenge) the victors of World War 11. They are using the same planes as before Pearl Harbour. Your correspondent should open his eyes, to truth; the menace to New Zea- i land and Australia increases every month. The Japanese will live where others may starve. Let them stay on their own islands. I, have no illusions about the Jap-i anese.—Yours, etc., ELIZABETH McFARLANE. j April 2, 1958.
