Road Safety
Sir, —There is one aspect of this safety campaign for the pedestrian (old or young) which calls for attention. The motorist should be asked to judge his speed a little more accurately before arriving at the crossing. They come full tilt, pull up with a screech, almost touching the pedestrian who is in the middle of his correct side. I have seen people stop, terrified with fright, wondering whether the car is going to stop. Fun for the driver; not so funny for the poor pedestrian.—Yours etc.. BE CAREFUL. March 31. 1958
