Import Controls
Sir.—The worry about import control is evidently contagious, and the Government must take steps to remedy it. Here is a conversation which took place between my grandson, age 6. and his mother: “Well, I’ll be all right for trousers,” to which his mother said, in surprise, “What’s’ that?” Back came the reply, “I won’t be without trousers.” “How?” said his mother. “Well,” he said, “I’ve looked at mine and they are made in New Zealand.” He was worried about the effect of import restrictions.—Yours, etc., • W. W. STEWART. March 31, 1958.
