Canterbury Club’s New Building .

A new clubhouse, at Erskine Point, for the Canterbury Yacht and Motor Boat Club was officially opened on Saturday evening with a social and dance. The club house has a large hall on the top floor, with kitchen and offices. The basement is used for the storage of small boats and gear. The building cost about £2300 but most of the work of rrepaving the site and putting in the foundations was done by voluntary labour.

Mr F. G. Briggs. Mayor of Lvttelton. and commodore of the Hub. welcomed the guests, who included representatives of the Akaroa Boating Club, the Christchurch Charteris Bav, Waimakariri. Stewart’s Gully. Pleasant Point and Mount Pleasant clubs. The new club house was due largely to the efforts of its voluntary workers, said Mr Briggs, who officially onened the building.
