Baby Toes In Form “The Press’* Special Service INVERCARGILL, March 21. The steeplechase season will ‘begin in the South Island with the Birchwood Hunt Club’s meeting at Invercargill tomorrow. There appears to be no'dearth of jumping talent, but few of the runners have any recent form credentials. The double will be on the Highweight Handicap and the President’s Handicap, for which Baby Toes and Well Cut may be the respective favourites. The track has dried out a good deal snce rain earlier in the week, and if there is' no mdre rain the going will be firm. Selections:— 11 a.m.-Birchwood Novice Stakes: First Division—Duster, Chief Witness. Second Division—Fine Note, Quiet Cornei;. 11.45 a.m.—Otautau Harness Trot: Bright Ensign, Chanter, Pal o’ Mine. 12.30 pm -H gh-weight Handicap: Baby Toes bracket, Vaper, Clifden Signal. 1.15 p.m. Gardner Memorial Steeplechase: Tisred bracket, Vocalize, King Simper. 2 p.m. -Presiuei.t’s Handicap: Well Cut, Recluse, Coinalot.2.45 p.m.—Wallace Saddle Trot: Kiwi Grattan, Kentucky Club, Lyric Lady. 3.30 p.m.—J. S. Hazlett Memorial Steeplechase.: Bonnie Strathyre Delarmo, Stormtide. 4.15 p.m.—Kennels Hack Handicap: Tadpole. Super Key, Geysel.
