Judging on the hoof will take place at the Addington Saleyards on Thursday, April 10. at 10 am. Judging on the hooks Will take place on Friday, April 11, at Thos. Borthwick and Sons (A/asia.) Ltd. works at Belfast. A Field Day will be held in conjunction with the hooks judging, and all interested are cordially invited to watch the killing and judging. BALMORAL FOREST PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that POISON (PHOSPHORISED POLLARD) will be laid for RABBIT DESTRUCTION at BALMORAL FOREST, in the vicinity of the MAIN NORTH ROAD, from BALMORAL TO CULVERDEN AND TEKOA ROAD as from MARCH 21, 1958. Persons are warned not to handle dead rabbits, and shooting in or adjacent to the forest is forbidden. A. P. THOMSON, Conservator of Forests. 2497 WAITAKI SOIL CONSERVATION DISTRICT LIGHTING FIRES TO BURN OFF VEGETATION PURSUANT to the Soil Conservation Regulations, 1945, it is notified that in the above District no burning of vegetation is permitted without written authority from the Soil Conservator, Waitaki Soil Conservation District, Kurow. Applications to burn off tussock or other vegetation in the above District may now be lodged with the Waitaki Soil Conservation District Committee, P.O. Box 110, Kurow. Applications will close June 30, 1958. Permission to burn may be granted in late winter and spring and is subject to the following conditions: 1— Land Occupiers must advise their neighbours of the date and place they intend to burn before any fires are lit. / 2 All precautions must be taken to ensure that fires do not get out of hand but remain confined to the area for which authority to burn has been granted. 3 Land Occupiers are entirely responsible for fires lit on their properties.
