WOOL SALE AT AUCKLAND

At the second and final day of the fourth Auckland wool sale today prices, compared with those of the first day, can be quoted as fully 2< per cent, dearer for extra fine crossbred fleeces and slightly dearer for coarser qualities, says the official report. Lamb’s wool and oddments were In sellers' favour. There was an offering of 21,594 bales of new season’s greasy wool. Total for the sale was 45,024 bales. Approximately 3 per cent, of the catalogue was passed. Today's offering was similar in style and condition to that offered on Wednesday. There was a full and representative bench of buyers with competition from both the Continent and Bradford. Although buyers were again operating within well defined limits a very much stronger tone was evident at the sale. The New Zealand Wool Commission gave strong support to the market for lambs’ wool although its actual purchases were negligible.
