FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation: An anti-cyclone is approaching New Zealand from the Tasman Sea, and a trough of low pressure is moving on to the south Tasman Sea from the west. Forecast:— Canterbury, Marlborough, and Nelson: Light to moderate winds from a northerly quarter; weather fair; moderate to mild day temperatures. Outlook: fair to cloudy. West Coast: Moderate northerly winds; weather cloudy, with rain spreading from the south late in the day; temperatures moderate. Outlook: rain. CHRISTCHURCH READINGS
