Store Prices Rise At Hastings
(New Zealand Press Association) HASTINGS, March 19.
News of the proposed American purchase of cattle on the hoof seemed to invest the cattle market with fresh interest al Stortford Lodge today. The buyers included exporters who showed an interest in any line in forward order.
A peak price of the season for two and a half-year steers of £39 15s was paid for a top quality draft of 35. Forward - conditioned, grown cattle advanced about 20s a head, and the market for 18-months heifers also showed an improvement.
