City Council Membership
In his reply to “Wondering” yesterday Cr. M. A. Connelly, M.P.. was reported as saying that when elected to the Christchurch City Council he was a ratepayer and resident of the city and still held “those qualifications” on the electors’ list in respect of property in the city. “My draft of the reply to the correspondent ‘Wondering’ reads as follows: ‘. . . and I still hold a qualification on the electors’ list . . ” Cr. Connelly said yesterday. “I am sorry if there has been a misunderstanding in communicating this draft to ‘The Press.’”
