Rugby BARBARIANS FOR SOUTH AFRICA
22 Internationals In Team (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) LONDON. March 18. The Barbarians Rugby Club has included 22 internationals—eight Welsh, five English, five Scottish, and four Irish—in its team to tour South Africa in May. G. Mainwaring, a Welsh trial player, from the Royal Navy, is the only one in a list of 23 announced today who is not an international. Two more players have still to be chosen.
The 23 players are:— i England—A. Ashcroft (Waterloo), G. W. Hastings (Gloucester), C. R. Jacobs (Northampton), R. E. G. Jeeps (Northampton), R. W. D. Marques (Cambridge University). Ireland: A. R. Dawson (Wanderers), A. A. Mulligan (Wanderers), A. C. Pedlow (CJ.Y.M.S.), A. D. F. O’Reilly (Old Belvedere). Scotland —N. S. Bruce (Blackheath), J. T. Greenwood (Perthshire), H. F. McLeod (Hawick), A. R. Smith (Gosforth). G. H. Waddell (Devonport Services). Wales—T. E. Davies (Llanelly), R. H. Davies (London Welsh), W. R. Evans (Cardiff), D. Faull (Swansea). G. Mainwaring (Royal Navy), C. I. Morgan (Cardiff), M. C. Thomas (Newport), G. Wells (Cardiff), R. H. Williams (Llanelly).
