LONDON WOOL SALES
A heavy weight of United Kingdom stockpile wool, comprising more than 10,000 bales, will be placed on the market at the next series of London wool sales which are due to start at the end of this week and conclude on March 28. In addition there will be 50,000 bales of new wool offered on behalf of the Dominions, states the London office of the Bank of New Zealand. New Zealand will be represented by 28,800 bales, of which 15,500 will be greasy, 5400 scoured, ant 7900 slipe. Australia will submit 12,600 bales, the bulk of it in the grease. Most of the New Zealand offering in the grease will be crossbreds from the North Island, of good to average style.
The trade in London is still waiting to see some confidence restored in the market. The New Zealand Wocl Commission has occasionally found it necessary to support the London market, just as it has done in New Zealand.
