Aerial spraying to kill manuka has been experimented with by the New Zealand Forest Service at the Te Wera State Forest. A 20-acre area was sprayed about three weeks ago, said the Forest Service ranger for Taranaki (Mr R. R. Packer) yesterday. Present indications were that the spraying had been successful. The spraying was done by an aerial topdressing firm at reduced rates, and the chemical used was given by the firm that manufactures it. —(P.A.)
