Trie Ohinemuri Jockey Club’s autumn meeting will conclude tomorrow when the main attraction will be the £lOOO Paeroa Cup, run over a mile and a quarter. This will be the first leg of the double. Another big race will be the St. Patrick’s Stakes, to be decided at weight-for-age over seven furlongs. Taboo has not yet been tried further than a mile, at which he has good form, and his showing in the Paeroa Cup will be interesting. Straight Lead and his half-brother. Straight March, are other good entrants. z The second leg will be the Members’ Hack Handicap. Biltong, Gonzales, Ottoman, and Stylish Cadet are candidates likely to dispute the finish. J, Cowie was disqualified for five years by the South Australian Jockey Club stewards today after an inquiry as a result of a swab taken from a racehorse in South Australia on February 22. The swab was taken from the filly True Dream at Cheltenham. The stewards found Cowie guilty of not taking proper precautions in preventing the administration of a drug to True Dream.

True Dream started in the Elgin Handicap, and after being tailed off early, pulled up in a distressed condition. Immediately after the race Cowie asked stewards to swab True Dream. The result of the swab was announced last week, and the ’ stewards opened an inquiry on Monday.
