Rain Affects Tinies Heavy showers of rain in the morning and persistent light showers in the afternoon softened the tracks on the Bt. Andrew’s College grounds yesterday, when the school’s annual athletic sports were held. Because of the slow tracks times were invariably below those normally expected at the end of the season. Only ofle record was broken, and this at a preliminary meeting. The new record was established in the junior high jump. T. A. Hart adding three-quarters of an inch to the 12-year-old record of 4ft 9|in. Hart failed by seven inches to equal the junior long jump record. The only other events in which competitors came close to record times were in the intermediate section, in which W. J. Thompson failed by .ssec to equal the 440 yards record.
