WOOL SALE AT WANGANUI
Prices Steady To Easier (New Zeaiana Press Association} WANGANUI. March 14. The third main Wanganui wool sale of the season was held today when a catalogue of 30.446 bales was submitted to a full bench of buyers. Good-style fleece wool can be quoted as firm on the rates ruling at the Timaru sale. Inferior and shabby sorts, however, and oddments were in the buyers’ favour. Lamb’s wool was erratic, with prices generally from 5 to 7A pep cent, lower than Timaru. The New Zealand Wool Commission gave good support to the market, particularly for lamb’s wool. Passings were not excessive. The offering comprised later shorn clips, with a large proportion of lamb’s wool, and the us”al assortment of oddments. The wool opened up in fair condition, but a good deal of stain was in evidence, says the official report. Bidding was well spread, but buyers were operating within strictly-defined limits.
