ENDEAVOUR DUE ON MONDAY
Welcome By R.N.Z.A.F. Jets (New Zealand Press Association} WELLINGTON, March 14. A formation of four Vampire Jets of No. 75 squadron R.N.Z.A.F. based on Ohakea, will fly over H.M.N.Z.S. Endeavour at 8.45 on Monday morning—15 minutes before the > Antarctic supply ship carrying Sir Vivian Fuchs and Sir Edmund Hillary and members of the Commonwealth transantarcfic expedition is due to berth. A spokesman from Air Headquarters said tonight the formation would be the Air Force’s way of expressing its congratulations for a job “well done.” Lady Hillary and Lady Fuchs will go to sea from Wellington on Monday to their husbands. They will be guests of the J. Lauritzen Lines for a few hours in the refrigerated polar ship, Magga Dan, which will meet the Endeavour.
The Magga Dan took the British expedition to the Antarctic 15 months ago.
