DAIRYING COST STRUCTURE
No Decision On Changes (New Zealana Press, Association) WELLINGTON, March 14. Every aspect of the guaranteed price structure had been examined by the Government and discussions had been held with individuals in the dairy industry but no decisions had been reached on the question of what alterations could or should be made, the Acting-Prime Minister (Mr Skinner) said today. The principle of the guaranteed price formula waS quite sound, but the situation in which the industry found itself today was much more serious than debating details of the cost structure, he said. “The bottom has dropped right out of the butter market,” said Mr Skinner. “Our problem today goes much beyond the cost structure.”
