EGG PRICES INCREASED
Standard Grade Now 5s 6d (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, March 14. A seasonal increase in egg prices will come into effect as from Monday. / Standard grade hen eggs will be increased by 6d a dozen, and mediqm grade by 4d a dozen. Duck eggs will be increased for the first time since October, 1957. The new prices are: South Island, except Nelson, Marlborough and West Coast: large hen eggs 5s lid (loose), 6s (cartoned); standard grade 5s 6d and 5s 7d; medium grade 4s 7d and -4s 8d; pullets, loose, 3s Id, mixed 5s 4d. Duck eggs, large 4s Bd, small 3s lOd; mixed 4s 4d. Nelson, Marlborough and Westland: large hen eggs 6s 3d and 6s 4d; standard 5s lOd and 5s lid;, medium 4s lid and ss; pullets, loose 3s sd, mixed 5s 8d; duck, large ss, small 4s 2d, mixed 4s Bd.
