In the string quartet contest at Wellington on Saturday night for prizes given by Mrs Judith Bagnall the Malcolm Latchem Quartet was awarded first prize of £lOO. The second prize £5O, went to the Francis Rosner Quartet. The only other contestant was the Wellington Junior string quartet combination led by Vincent Aspey, jun., son of the leader of the National Orchestra. —(P.A.)
