PLANE CRASHES IN WAIRARAPA
Topdressing Pilot Badly Hurt
(New Zealand Press Association) MASTERTON, March 9.
An aerial topdressing crash—the second on the same property within three weeks—occurred at Wangaehu. about 12 miles northeast of Masterton, at 10.10 a.m. yesterday. The pilot, Darcy Norman Perry, aged about 35, married, of 31 Victoria Street, Masterton, is in Masterton Hospital suffering from a fractured spine, shock and abrasions. His condition this afternoon was described as satisfactory. The aircraft, a Piper Cub owned by Aerial Farming, ot Palmerston North, crashed on the Falloon estate, where a similar plane, operated by the same company, crashed on February 15. killing the pilot, Mr L. Stott.
