MORE CORRIEDALES FOR KENYA
More Canterbury Corriedales left the country this week on their way to Kenya. In the latest shipment are two rams from Douglas Johnston (Mayfield), one from the estate of H. T. Little (Hui Hui), and one from A .J. Blakely (Clifton). The rams, which are going to three buyers, are travelling from Wellington to Sydney on the Monowai ana from Sydney to Mombassa on the Straatecook. In the past, mainly Merino and Merino cross sheep have been used in Kenya, but with the increased demand in that part of the world for meat it is now being found that the Corriedale fills the ifeed as a dual purpose sheep. The Corriedales recently shipped to Peru have now®i-eached that country in good condition, though the vessel on which they travelled caught fire and some of their fodder was destroyed. Buyers are reported to be pleased with their purchases.
