Four members of the Australian swimming team for the Empire Games at Cardiff last night broke the world record for the four by 100 metres in a time of 3min 463 sec. The four swimmers, John Devitt, Jon Konrads, Gary Chapman and Geoffrey Shipton, bettered the previous world time set by Japan by five-tenths of a second.
