TOPDRESSING CRASH
Pilot Killed In Wairarapa (New Zealand Press Association; MASTERTON, Feb; IS. The pilot was killed when a Piper |op-dressing plane crashed and burst into flames on the side of a hill in the Whangaehu Valley, about 15 miles from Masterton, at about 9.30 a.m. yesterday. The pilot was: Leslie Ernest Stott, aged 29, whose parents live at Mangakino. Mr Stott suffered multiple injuries and bums and died shortly after he was pulled from the flaming wreck. The engine stalled while the plane was banking for a turn, and it burst into flames when it hit the ground. Two brothers, Messrs Gavin and Falloon, saw the crash and rushed to the scene. They pulled Mr Stott from the wreckage. Gavin Falloon suffered bums to one leg and his hands, and Richard Falloon was burned about the face and hand. Neither required hospital treatment.
