Weir, got up «“ the last few strides to beat GsJ Emperor (6-1) by a long neck, witn Sailor Gay (6-1) half a head awsy third. Shahwan won one bet of £5OOO W £lOOO. He started at 3/1. It was Shahwan’s first win since coming to Sydney. His last win WS» at Doomben, Brisbane, in May.
