First Games Today The first games in the New Zealand water polo championships will begin in Christchurch today. Five teams—Auckland, Canterbury, Otago, Waikato and Wellington—are entered in the A grade, and in the B grade, Auckland, Canterbury, Hawke’s Bay, Poverty Bay, South Canterbury, Wanganui and Wellington, will compete. Today’s games will be between B grade teams. They will be held at the St. Albans bath from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., and at the Centennial Pool from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The first of A grade games will be played at the Centennial Pool tomorrow evening before and after the first night carnival of the New Zealand swimming championships.
