Malayan Teachers Await N.Z. Places (Rec. 11 pjn.) SINGAPORE. January 21. The “Straits Times” said today that 10 Malayan school teachers •elected two years ago for special overseas training under the Colombo Plan were still waiting for places at the University of New Zealand.

The newspaper said that the 10 teachers had been offered scholarships for a vocational teachers’ training centre at Kuala Lumpur, but they feared that if they accepted they would lose all chance of going to New Zealand. One man had postponed his marriage in the hope of going overseas.
