PLANS OF U.S. EVANGELIST

Request To Dr. Billy Graham Dr. Billy Graham, the American evangelist, has, at the moment, no plans for visiting New Zealand to hold a crusade. This advice was received by the Rev. A. A. Brash, general secretary of the National Council'of Churches in New Zealand, in a letter from Dr. Graham’s executive secretary (Mr J. Beaven) recently. “It is impossible for us to make final decisions about the visit to Australia yet,” said the letter. The invitation was extended to Dr. Graham by, the council at the request of member churches. They thought that as Dr. Graham would be close to New Zealand when he conducted the crusade in Australia, it would have been easy for him to come to the Dominion. Mr Beaven said Dr. Graham intended to be in Australia not| later than April 1 for the crusade, i “I can assure you that the invitation for a visit to New Zealand will be given the most careful consideration.” said Mr Beaven.
