FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT
Situation: A cold front which moved on to Southland yesterday is expected to have crossed the South Island by midday. Forecast:— West Coast: Moderate to fresh westerlies prevailing, weather cool and changeable with occasional showers. Outlook: occasional showers. Canterbury: Fresh north-westerly winds at first but winds moderating during the morning; rain in the high country with a few scattered showers elsewhere, but the weather otherwise fair to cloudy; mild to warm temperatures. Outlook: fair. Nelson: Winds turning to moderate south-westerlies during the morning; occasional rain at first but the weather clearing by this afternoon apart from showers in ’ the western ranges; temperatures mild. Outlook: mainly fair. Marlborough: Fresh to strong north-west winds, reaching gale force about the Sounds; rain in the morning, but the weather fair later; mild temperatures. Outlook: fair.
CHRISTCHURCH READINGS
