Good Play By A. G. Ross

(New Zeaiutia Association' WANGANUI, January 20. Captain of the country’s test croquet teams since 1928, A. G. F. Ross, of Hastings, commanded attention on the third day of the national croquet championships on the Wanganui club lawns today when he made two triple peels. The first triple peel was in his third game of the rubber against L. Middlemiss (Pukekohe) in the men’s championship. Middlemiss, however, a minus handicap player who last visited Wanganui eight years ago as a nine bisque player, was in top form. He played some spectacular shots to win the game and rubber.

Ross, later in the first round of the open, played another perfect triple peel, and proved too strong for H. Ford, of Wellington. Results:—
