Jan 20 J A Barry Manawatu, retained his men’s singles title in the Wellington tennis championships, which concluded today He beat J R McDonald In -he final. With. Miss G Hopklnson, Barry also won the mixed doubles. Miss S Cox. the national women’s champion, also won two titles Results were:— Men’s Singles.—J. A. Barry beat J R McDonald 6-0, 6-4. 6-1. Women’s Singles.—Miss S. Cox beat Miss D. Kin ’, 6-4, 7-5. Men’s Doubles.—J. R. McDonald and R. S. McKenzie beat R Ferkins and B M. Mackie, 6-2, 6-4, 8-6 Women’s Doubles.—Misses S Cox and G Tomkins beat Misses D King and G Hopklnson 6-1. 7-9, 6-0 Mixed Doubles.—J A Barry and Miss G Hopklnson beat B R. Boon and Miss S Cox 6-4. 6-0
