Racing REDCRAZE’S LAST RUN
Exhibition At Trentham (From Out Own Reporter) WELLINGTON, Jan. 20. The champion Redcraze was seen for the last time under the racing colours of Mrs A. B. Bradley at Trentham today. He was paraded in the birdcage after the fifth race and was given an easy run for about two furlongs in the straight by V. J. Sellars, who was associated with him in many of his victories. Redcraze, the leading stake winner in Australia and New Zealand —his earnings were more than £7o,ooo—was retired earlier this season not long after an unsuccessful attempt to win his second Melbourne Cup. He was brought back to New Zealand last week. Trentham was the scene of some of Redcraze’s notable performances, and he was given a great reception by a crowd of 15,000 today. His elderly owner was not present. She is in hospital.
