MELBOURNE A variable tone was recorded throughout the mining section, and trading generally was quiet on the Melbourne Stock Exchange yesterday. Oil Search rose 6d, but other oils recorded only narrow moves. A strong market undertone was maintained throughout thtf investment section, with rises covering a wide range of stocks.
