Mr Lewis slrauss, chairman Of the Atomic Energy Commission, said today that “considerable progress’’ had been made by both British and United States scientists towards harnessing hydrogen bomb reactions for peaceful power. But, he said at :a press conference, development of a practical hydrogen power unit was “years and years” away. Mr Strauss said he expected that papers on British and American hydrogen fusion power research would be published on both sides of the Atlantic “within a matter of weeks.”
