Hot Drop-Happy Monarch Pahiatua Club’s Double

PALMERSTON NORTH, Jan. 8. The Hot Drop-Happy Monarch double paid £ll5 3s on the second day of the Pahiatua Racing Club’s meeting at Woodville today. Hot Drop finished brilliantly to win the President’s Handicap narrowly from Chateau and Nine Days. Happy Monarch, ridden by W. A Smith beat the favourite, St. Reynard, by half a head in the Rodney Memorial Hack Handicap. The weather was fine and the track fast.
