Mount Stromlo
Sir, —I find that in the interview with me that appeared on your page ‘‘Women’s News and Views” I have given the impression that only invited guests may see over the Mount Stromlo Observatory. This is not the case. There are regular open nights. These are extremely popular, however, and it is necessary to put down your name well in advance. I seem also to have misled my interviewer into thinking that Professor Bok himself constructed the device used for viewing sunspots. I think I said that he had “set it up” on the lawn, and doubtless this does suggest very readily a picture of someone busily constructing the machine himself. —Yours, etc., MARY PRIOR. January 7, 1958.
